TARBORO's 2nd SATURDAY - December 13, 2008
Just as we did last year, we'll be promoting DISCOVER TARBORO as our Chistmas Holiday theme with games that will lead you into all of our downtown businesses, plus music, food and tons of Holiday Spirit.
To spread the Holiday Cheer throughout the month of December, we'll be working with the Chamber of Commerce to have mini-events starting with an official tree lighting on Friday December 5th at 5:30pm. Come on out, browse the stores and put a smile on your face. On the evening of Friday, December 12th, the student of the Early College Program at ECCC will be on the square @ 5:00pm with hot cocoa, cookies and Christmas Karaoke. Come sing-along with them.
For Tarboro's 2nd Saturday, on December 13th we'll have the stage in a new location facing Main Street. The vendors will be lining the sidewalks so you can get a good look at all of the wonderful stuff being offered as you play the DISCOVER TARBORO game. The gamesheet will be available at all participating downtown businesses and all you have to do is visit each one to complete your entry form for the grand drawing by Santa later in the afternoon. This year the GRAND PRIZE is something we could all enjoy. The game player whose winning entry is selected by Santa @ 3:15pm on Saturday, will recieve a GIFT CERTIFICATE WORTH $400.00 to be used at any of the participating downtown businesses. See the list below of the businesses where the gift certificate can be used.
We've got music lined up for the day, but if the weather doesn't warm up a bit I'm not going to subject our musicians or their equipment to the ravages of the elements. Have no fear, there WILL be music, maybe recorded music or karaoke , but you will be serenaded in some form. In fact, holiday music will be playing along all of Main Street downtown. The stores will all be tuned to the same radio station and speakers will be set outside so you can enjoy the sounds of Christmas as you stroll and browse.
We moved the T2S Afterhours inside the Unusual Shoppe (due to cold weather). Join us from 7:00pm to 10:00pm for KARAOKE in the back room of the Shoppe located at 108 East Pitt Street. Dress warmly and BYOB.
