TARBORO's 2nd SATURDAY - September 13, 2008
What started as a street fair just 6 months ago has blossomed into a music festival. We're still learning the ropes and getting the kinks worked out of the system, but the September T2S event looks like it is gonna be chock full of fun and music to suit all tastes.
We're getting a great music line up together, trying to fit in everyone who wants to play. I'm proud to say that our stage on the courthouse square is attracting the best independent musicians and bands in eastern North Carolina.
Watch this page (as you do every month) because as I know who is coming and get everything confirmed, I'll be creating a playlist you won't want to miss.
Gary Mitchell will be coming to town from Chapel Hill with his soothing acoustic sounds and "Music with a Message". Coming up from Wilmington, we've got The Discourse, a folk/acoustic/rock solo project of Sean Huckestein.
Local gospel favorites Believin' Hearts (John & Larry) will start off the day at 10:00 am with Christian songs of worship and praise and they are bringing along special guest William Whitehurst a recent winner of the Cantaloupe Festival's karaoke contest.
Around noon, Jake Johnson from Greenville is gonna get things going with Southern-style country rock and another popular local performer, Deacon Jones will be on stage, charming you with some good classic rock and original tunes as well.
