Tarboro is Talking - Community Discussion > All's well that ends well
It will never catch on - it is too radical!!

I ran into Mr Muhammad at the Blender's Edge Barber Shop a few days ago and we had a few minutes to talk. I'm very impressed with his sincere desire to represent the people of the community and to be a driving force in the revitalization of our town. As the newest member of our town council he is definitely an asset. His youthful insight and energy is much needed and "hopefully" much appreciated.

I'm thinking about starting a Melvin Muhammad fan club after reading Ronnie Wiggins' letter to the editor in yesterday's Daily Southerner. It appears that Muhammad and Taro Knight spoke to Mr. Wiggins about his plans to open the Majestic Adult Center on Main Street, after which he decided not to open the shop after all, "because of my respect and understanding for these two gentlemen who know and love their community and truly have all of the residents of Tarboro's best interest at heart."
How's that for a civilized, appropriate outcome for a conflict that has had the entire town in paroxysms for the last couple of months? Talking face to face like human beings -- what a novel idea! Cheers to everyone involved.
