The Grassroots of Tarboro, the "ordinary" people who make Tarboro their home are what makes this town a great place to live. The feeling of community is strong and the creative energy level is high. These "ordinary" people are extraordinary in their abilty to look toward the future and work together to make things happen for the better.
The Grassroots of Tarboro is an informal organization. It is the people of Tarboro, neighbors with a common cause. It is our young people, our old people, our black people, our white people, our hispanic people, our asian people, our new-comers, our long-time residents, our rich people, our poor people, all working together to make our home a little bit nicer, a little bit better. Grassroots of Tarboro is a gathering of, by and for ALL of the people of Tarboro.
The town officials do their job of balancing the budget and keeping everything in working order, while the Grassroots of Tarboro takes on the tasks of coordinating, networking and bringing more art, culture and vitality to our well-maintained town.
