Promoting Tarboro

We need to have someone that's media savvy hit up all the papers, radio stations, TV stations, etc. that have community bulletin boards that they put on the air, whatever to advertise our events.
For our April T2S event, Eric Towell contacted dozens of TV stations and radio stations. The task is a bit overwhelming, because you can't simply email all of them, some have forms to fill out and formats to follow, including deadlines that are months in advance. One problem promoting our T2S events is that we only have a general idea of what is scheduled months in advance. I think if we create a master list and then break it down, a team of 2 to 3 people coordinating their efforts could probably do a pretty good job in their spare time keeping us posted and up to date. Any volunteers?

As a grassroots effort, we think Tarboro's 2nd Saturdays is an excellent example of how ordinary people can get together and promote their town. As each month goes by, more people hear about the festivities and more people visit. When visitors come to Tarboro on 2nd Saturday they see happy people enjoying themselves, and enjoying their town.
