During 2008, from April through December, on the 2^nd Saturday of the month, The Grassroots of Tarboro sponsored*, planned, organized and promoted a street fair and music festival for the town of Tarboro. ( *note: to satisfy the town officials stipulations requiring a 1 million dollar liability insurance policy to have an event on the Courthouse Square, T2S and the Grassroots operated "in conjunction" with the Tarboro Edgecombe Chamber of Commerce)

2008 was our first year, we worked hard, we learned a lot, we accomplished a lot and had a great 9-month series of events. Along with a street fair of food and craft vendors, we tried to have different activities EVERY month, planning each T2S as a full day of fun for folks of all ages. The music portion of the event EXPLODED in popularity and it may be safe to say that during 2008 T2S showcased some of the best independent musicians in eastern North Carolina.
